It's Harvesting Time for these 2 Monkeys

2 Monyet Besar :)

These 2 guys (Kris and Gayo) could not fight the urge not to climb the date tree. Since this is near the end of winter in Bahrain and so is date fruit season. We have to catch them before the birds finish them all or before it is getting too dry. Alamak... the taste is unbelievable, so sweet and tender when chewing and hmmmph I am fasting now, I can not tell you further Hahahahah perhaps next time!
Do you like Date fruit or Tamar (Arabic) or Qhorma (Persian)?
I do, I do, I do..... I break my fast with it. Love it!!!!!!!

Most house in Bahrain is a copy carbon of this one.
One of these days, I will write a detail information
about traditional Bahraini house and
If I am lucky, I will get the pictures as well.
Wish me luck y'all!

The Beautiful Kanoo Mosque

This is my friend, Amru. He is a Palestinian. We met last night after the pray. It is good to see the familiar face. We promise to see each other again tonight at the same mosque. Insyallah!

Pearl Of Bahrain

I am feeling so gloomy today. I am having a flu ( or cold for most people say it)! Since the last 3 days, I start having all my joint painfull, Cold sweat and finally I got me nose blocked ! I am having a bad cold!! So to cheer up myself and everybody who happen to cross my page, here is a shot of the famous Bahraini Pearl during my exploring trip. Later on, I will digg deeper for a story of Bahraini Pearl.
Have you ever gone Pearl Diving, my mate from South Africa keep asking me to join him for a peral Diving. Geez, I have not been diving for 5 years. I still can not say yes to him. I am afraid of deep water now. LOL

Quite Road at Sanabis

This is one quite road at Sanabis. When I showed it to a Lebanese friend who has lived in Bahrain for years, he said nobody is going to believe that it is in Sanabis. I am wondering how long this road is going to stay there. Will it survive the so called modernization and stay there or give way to those new tall buildings? Well it gives me a sad thought that this place will be vanished in the future.

Parking Lot

In here in Bahrain, People is very serious when building a space for parking area. What mostly intrique me, most parking lot here is built with a metal construction bone and a tent like shade for the sun. It is normally found in offices, malls, houses and hotels. the one I am posting now, taken yesterday when I was a bit bored and its rather late afternoon. I took a walk a bit at the resort entrance, turned left to the front parking lot and when I looked up and saw the these slots. I was feeling in awe and rushed back to office to grab my digital camera. I hope i could catch it in time to get the right picture.

Anyway, it looked so nice, the near sunset light and the green grass (that's a pretty sight for us here lol because during the summer, every plant look dull, brownish in colours and seem half dead). Since there is no car parking there, it feel so quite and peaceful.

Do you guys have a special feature on a parking lot in your town?

A Garden in a Desert

These two plants look really nice when captured in a camera. Actually the one in the bottom is one of the common shrub growing all around my flat area and the other one is a common tall grass mostly found in the field.
Wild shrub is one of the common plants which survive the harsh condition in the desert. It is really amazing of how they could survive the extreme weather here during the summer. But do not worry! These two greens are grown in a garden and they are well watered everyday.
That also answers the reason why their colouring are really nice and pleasing to the eyes.
Later, I will post more of garden pictures. Have a nice day all!

Sanabis from the Sky

Today it is still very hot here in Bahrain as The Summer is almost at its end. The weather will be getting cooler on September which will be next month. It is 43 Celcius degree now outside and I am so lucky for being inside an airconed office. The picture I am showing to everybody now is not actually a picture taken by camera but I save it from Google Earth. As I said on my earlier post that the area where I live is a part of sea reclamation program in Bahrain. From 4664 feet in the air, the area looks so empty. Halah give it another 6 months there will be more building around us.

Sanabis Nights

Bahrain always looks beautiful at nights, all the street lights, the buildings and cars. This one was taken from the roof top of my apartment. You can see that there is scarcely any building around us now as we are actually standing at one of land reclamation in Bahrain.
So you see, every morning I still find various sea cells on my morning walks and imagine that this piece of land was used to be a sea. Wah! It feels like I am walking on the sea water now. Halah

Old Bahrain in Miniatures

These photos were taken when I went to handicraft center at Jasra. These two sets of miniature captured my eyes. I took them with my digital camera, though the pictures are not really good but what a heck I love them. So neat, although the doll is a little round in the face. LOL

Jars in Disguise

Home Accessories of any material always got me wonder and hook for just looking at them for hours. Working at Gallery makes me appreciating them more. Do not you think that all of these containers, candles, vases and jars look really georgous ? It was originally a bussiness trip but then we spent hours windowshopping with my colleagues at LifeStyle shop at Seef and also taking notes for my future home. By the way, they do have nice stuffs there!

The Golden Figurines

Some places may have some features to make them shine from other places. I do believe that the accesories or ornament contribute on this aspect. As what it shows on above picture of our resort.
Do you have something that is outstandingly distinctive accesories back home?

Happy 62nd Birthday My Indonesia

Today is Indonesia's National Day.
As usual, there will be a flag raising ceremony at both Indonesian Embassy and Consulate anywhere in this planet. For most of us living overseas, we always try to attend this once a year celebration (hey come on, its Independence Day) and what most people are waiting for is the late afternoon gathering.
So late afternoon today, we will be having a gathering at Dolphin Park. There will be games (some silly ones, participated by all adult) such as makan kerupuk race (eating cracker race), shack race (pacu karung) and tarik tambang (tug of war) and normally there would be some Jajanan Pasar (Indonesian food !!!). They are contributed from some of Indonesian here too. It is the moment that everybody is waiting for.
This is how we the Indonesian are celebrating our National Day at home and overseas. How do you guys celebrate your National Day back home? and what about when you are away from your home or Country?
